My teaching philosophy is shaped by my role as a director and storyteller. As someone who has made a career of guiding a diverse group of artists in order to create under a unified vision, I use my rehearsal practice interchangeably with my teaching philosophy. I am deeply committed to the power of storytelling and the belief that the arts are a powerful vehicle for learning, identity formation, and collaboration. From my own experience, I know firsthand that an education in the arts not only provides the tools for storytelling and excellence within one’s own art, but also provides an opportunity for students to grow as human beings and members of society. My approach to teaching emphasizes inclusivity, creativity, and critical thought, ensuring that my students are able to explore their own artistic potential.
